May 24, 2025 – After winning her second consecutive race on Woodbine’s opening day card a month ago, Canuck Racing Club’s 4-year-old bay filly Sinclairity gamely accepted a much tougher challenge from a field of proven winners in race 4 at Woodbine on Saturday. While many of the expert handicappers proclaimed that Sinclairity would be over her head in a race that promised more speed than she faced in her previous two wins, the Ontario-bred filly and her accomplished young jockey Pietro Moran answered their doubters by putting away all the other speed on route to their third consecutive win for the club and Sovereign Award winning trainer, Kevin Attard.
Breaking smartly from the inside gate, Sinclairity and Pietro Moran quickly vied for the lead and had it inside a few strides as the field briefly lined up in perfect numerical order. The duo maintained a firm grip on their frontrunner status for all but a few seconds in the backstretch as Eswan Flores on #2 Prima forced the issue and pace throughout, pushing the rivals to just over 67 km/hr.
The duel between #1 and #2 continued through the first turn with Sinclairity leading by a head. Sahin Civaci on #4 Sweet Passions was content to stalk as the designated closer. Rounding the final turn, Sinclairity pushed the gap to 3/4 of a length and then the sprint was on. By 220 yards from the wire, she had pulled ahead by a couple of lengths in her stretch drive, putting Prima in her rear view while Sweet Passions made an admirable bid outside and powered into second position. While the latter did well to narrow the lead to 3/4 lengths by the end of the contest, Sinclairity dug and refused to lose in on route to her third consecutive win.
Early in the 2025 campaign, the win brought Canuck Racing Club’s record to 3-1-0 in five starts, with a 60% win rate that firmly places the ownership group among the elite at Woodbine racecourse.
