Moira crowned 2022 Canadian Horse of the Year at Sovereigns
Apr 14, 2023 – Moira, winner of the Queen’s Plate and Woodbine Oaks in 2022, was voted Canada’s Horse of the Year at the 48th Sovereign Awards. David Anderson of Anderson Farms owns a share in co-owner X-Men Racing and was among the group which accepted the Sovereigns for Moira. “As we all know, great horses make mediocre horsepeople look smart,” he said. “But when you do it year in and year out like Donato Lanni, something’s right. This is the smartest guy in the business.”
