Aug 28, 2024 – The 2024 CTHS Premier Yearling Sale is Canada’s top auction for thoroughbred yearlings and this year’s event drew more interest from buyers across Canada and the US. The sale also marked the third consecutive event in which the Canuck Racing Club walked away with four prized thoroughbreds to augment its impressive record on the track.

Led by managing partner and top bloodstock agent Donato Lanni, the club scouted more than 200 horses and acquired all of the four they targeted: powerful-looking fillies by Mo Town, Mendelssohn, Reload, and Signature Red.

Moira crowned 2022 Canadian Horse of the Year at Sovereigns

Apr 14, 2023 – Moira, winner of the Queen’s Plate and Woodbine Oaks in 2022, was voted Canada’s Horse of the Year at the 48th Sovereign Awards. David Anderson of Anderson Farms owns a share in co-owner X-Men Racing and was among the group which accepted the Sovereigns for Moira. “As we all know, great horses make mediocre horsepeople look smart,” he said. “But when you do it year in and year out like Donato Lanni, something’s right. This is the smartest guy in the business.”
