July 29, 2023 – Only minutes after her stablemate Vandoo won her first-ever race, War Painter took to the track in race #6 on Saturday at Woodbine, again with top jockey Kazushi Kimura in the irons. In the $111,600 Maiden Allowance race, War Painter got pinballed early but showed no quit as she refocused and completely dominated the second half of the race, rocketing within a head of seizing two wins in a row for the Canuck Racing Club. What an exciting photo finish and day for her owners from a very promising War Painter (Danish Dynaformer–Morning Tale) who is bred for distance but showed the crowd blazing speed in a shorter 6-furlong race against some quality competition.
